Spin Digital Labs at NAB 2025
Berlin, Germany, April 4th 2025.
We, the team at Spin Digital Labs, are excited to announce our participation at the NAB 2025. The tradeshow is scheduled to take place from April 6-9 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Visit us at the Fraunhofer booth (West Hall W2857).
As a leading provider of high-performance video encoding software, we will be showcasing the latest advancements of our state-of-the-art HEVC and VVC video encoders. Spin Digital software video codecs are designed to deliver exceptional video quality, efficiency and performance across a wide range of applications, including live streaming, broadcasting, transcoding, and immersive media.
Continuous video codec innovation
Spin Digital software video codecs benefit from rapid development and experimentation with new compression techniques, fostering innovation and allowing for continuous improvement in video compression efficiency, performance and advanced codec features.
Spin Digital ultra-optimized software encoders exhibit industry leading real-time compression efficiency, include state-of-the-art rate control and perceptual coding algorithms, and are designed for live applications with real-time and low-latency operation capabilities.
Recently, we released Spin SDK v7.0 with several performance, compression, perceptual quality, real-time, and low-latency improvements and new features.
The NAB demo will present a highlight of the upcoming SDK v.8.0, which will include further improvements in compression and quality, and new features such as Multi-View coding with HEVC and VVC.
On site Demo
At the booth, we will present a video encoder quality comparison to highlight the visual effect of the latest optimizations to our encoders. A side-by-side quality comparison will be presented comparing Spin Digital HEVC and VVC encoders with existing open-source software and GPU-based codecs.
As visitors will be able to see, Spin Digital live encoders outperform other encoders:
- Open-source software encoders (e.g. x265): Spin Digital encoders result in better perceptual quality, have superior parallel scalability (the effective use of multicore CPU architectures), and exhibit consistent real-time performance for UHD 4K and beyond.
- GPU-based encoders (e.g. NVENC HEVC and AV1): Spin Digital encoders exhibit higher perceptual quality and include more advanced features (rate control, perceptual coding, content-aware-encoding, statmux, etc) for live streaming and broadcasting.
