Spin Digital at Media Web Symposium 2026
Spin Digital participated in the 13th FOKUS Media Web Symposium, in Berlin on June 16-17, 2026.
This event, hosted by Fraunhofer FOKUS, is an international gathering of experts for exploring advancements in Internet-based media delivery.
Spin Digital joined Ericsson in a demonstration of ultra-low latency VVC encoding. The demonstration highlighted the quality and compression efficiency of ultra-low-latency software VVC encoding.
Luckasz Litwic, Senior Research Manager at Ericsson made a presentation at the conference titled VVC: Unlocking the Next Generation of Video Efficiency where he described how uplink traffic is becoming the new bottleneck in mobile networks, resulting from the usage increase of video uplink-heavy applications such as cloud gaming, video conferencing, and remote video monitoring.
In this scenario, the video compression efficiency gains of state-of-the-art video coding standards such as VVC translate into network capacity gains, giving a more than linear capacity boost and allowing to increase the number of users and the overall service quality.
