Spin Digital at IBC 2024
Berlin, Germany, August 30th 2024. Spin Digital is excited to announce its participation in the IBC 2024. The event, scheduled to take place from September 13 to 16 2024 at the RAI Convention Center in Amsterdam, is the main platform for Spin Digital to showcase its innovative video codec solutions to industry professionals.
At IBC 2024, Spin Digital will be showcasing its latest advancements in video codec technology including HEVC, VVC, 4K, 8K, 120 fps, and VR 360.
Our solutions are designed to deliver exceptional video quality, efficiency and performance across a wide range of applications, including live streaming, broadcasting, transcoding, and immersive media.
Visitors to the Spin Digital booth (Hall 1 – 1.A03) will have the opportunity to experience demonstrations of the latest versions of our HEVC and VVC encoders and media player and learn about the benefits of our ultra-optimized video codecs for live and file workflows.
Latest developments
At IBC 2024 we are announcing and presenting the latest developments of our video codec technology with several new features and optimizations, including:
Improved VVC and HEVC live encoders
The latest version of Spin Digital’s live encoders exhibit improved compression efficiency, higher performance, and support for the latest generation of CPU architectures. The new version includes enhancements to our perceptually-optimized encoding mode designed for content-aware encoding applications in file and live streaming, as well as improvements in rate control and real-time performance. Spin Digital HEVC and VCV encoders achieve the highest performance in the industry (including 4K, 8K, with HDR and 120 fs) at the lowest bitrate.
Statmux
Spin Digital is presenting a new and modern design for statistical multiplexing (statmux). Our Statmux allows a more efficient delivery of multiple live streams under a global bitrate constraint. The new statmux is based on our perceptual coding and content-aware encoding algorithms, and dynamically allocates bandwidth based on the complexity of each video stream. It supports HEVC and VVC, and can combine dynamically streams with different properties (e.g. resolution, frame rates, etc).
ST-2110 up to 100 Gbit/s
Spin Digital live encoder (Spin Enc Live) and Player (Spin Player) have been extended with support for ST-2110 standard for IP-based workflows, providing a more flexible and efficient alternative to traditional SDI workflows. Spin Digital implementation using state-of-the art ST-2110 network adapters can reach the performance required for the most demanding applications including 8K up 120 frames per second (with 4:2:2 and 10-bit pixel format).
MV-HEVC
Multi-View HEVC (MV-HEVC) is an extension of the HEVC standard specifically designed for coding video captured from multiple viewpoints; in particular for stereo 3D video it allows to efficiently code video with left and right views. MV-HEVC is becoming the standard solution for immersive devices that support very high resolution. Spin Digital has implemented MV-HEVC in its SDK and encoder with support for live and file workflows. For live workflows it exhibits very high performance capabilities, including 8Kx8K (2x 8K views), live encoding and streaming. Next-generation immersive and VR 360 applications in sports and live events are becoming possible.
