Spin Digital at the HiPEAC Conference – Manchester
Spin Digital will be part of the HiPEAC conference that will take place in Manchester, UK from January 22-24 2018 at the Manchester Central Convention Center.
Berlin, January 8, 2018 — Spin Digital CEO Mauricio Alvarez-Mesa will give a talk on Monday Jan. 22nd at 11:30 am as part of the PEGPUM worskhop, and another one on Wed. Jan 24th at 10:20 am as part of the TISU workshop
PEGPUM 2018: Sixth International Workshop on Power-Efficient GPU and Many-core Computing
The PEGPUM workshop is organised by the LPGPU2 European Project of which Spin Digital is a member. The talk is titled H.265 Media Player for Ultra High Definition Applications: 4K, 8K, and beyond, and on it Dr. Alvarez-Mesa will present the latest development of Spin Digital in HEVC video decoding and video rendering for emerging video applications. Spin Digital has been working on special pixel formats for optimising its Media Player for even more demanding video applications such as 8K with 120 fps, or resolutions beyond 8K.

TISU: Tetramax Workshop on Transfer to Industry and Start-Ups
The TISU workshop is organized by the Tetramax EU project and aims at discussing means and ways to improve both the industry transfer as well as stimulating people to transfer their knowledge in business ideas and startups.
Dr. Alvarez-Mesa will make a presentation titled Spin-Digital : from to start to now where he will explain the development of Spin Digital from its origins at the Technical University of Berlin to the current situation of the company with many customers and partners in several countries.
