March 1th 2018: Spin Digital will participate at Tampere Film Festival 2018, one of the most important European short film festivals, that will take place in the Finnish city of Tampere from March 7th to Sunday 11th 2018.
As part of the 2018 program at Tampere Film Festival, the DDD60 project is sponsoring an onsite 360° video library demonstration coordinated by Sergio Sanz-Rodríguez, Senior Engineer at Spin Digital, and Tilman Scheel, CEO at reelport GmbH.
Spin Digital will present its new HEVC/H.265 software encoder optimized for 360° video. A special section of the festival consists of several 360° films that will be screened using the HTC Vive head-mounted display. All the 360° films have been encoded with the Spin Digital H.265 encoder for very high visual quality.

DDD60 is a consortium of European film festivals/markets and technology organisations including – reelport, Spin Digital, the Marché du Film – Festival de Cannes, Sunny Side of the Doc, Sheffield Doc/Fest, and Tampere Film Festival– that collaborate on a joint venture designed to significantly enhance the end users’ virtual reality online experience.
